BPI BA-T Field Exam Prep - Morning

About this event

This course prepares qualified students to take the BPI BA-T Building Analyst Technician certification exam. Students will review the types of questions that will be asked during the written and field exams and take one final exam assessing their Energy Auditor skills.

Participants should know the following prior to registration:

• How to use the following equipment and interpret results: • Blower Door

• Pressure Pan

• Manometers

• Combustion Analyzers

• Tape Measures

• How to perform an audit on a natural gas/propane home.

• Common health & safety concerns and how to remediate them.

• Interpret audit details to recommend changes for energy proficiency.

What You Will Learn:

• How to perform the BA-T Field Exam so that you will pass.

• What items are gated and how to successfully navigate them.

• Time management for the exam.

Prerequisites

• Building Science Principles (BSP) Certification from BPI.

• Students should be competent in basic mathematics and construction terminology skills prior to attending this training.

Physical Requirements

• Physical Requirements: Sit or stand for long periods of time.

• Ability to access attics and crawlspaces.

• During class time we will be in a warehouse where temperatures can fluctuate according to the weather. Dress in layers.

• We recommend wearing closed-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty, stained and cover all skin (long-sleeved shirt and long pants).

What to Know Before I Go?

• Students will receive a Certificate of Completion for CEUs. To receive BPI certification, the candidate must pass a proctored field exam.

• A script, BPI materials, and OTI materials will be provided.
