- ➤ The Melt Down fundraiser will begin with a 10th-anniversary open house at Golden Valley Brew Pub on Saturday, Jan. 31 — 53 businesses will offer grilled-cheese specials in February and donate $2 per sale to YCAP’s food bank, with prizes for eating seven sandwiches. News-Register
- ➤ McMinnville Grange 31 at 1700 S.W. Old Sheridan Road hosts dancing, a potluck on Fridays from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. featuring family music. Dance lessons run on Saturdays + ballroom from 1 to 2 p.m. and line dancing from 2 to 3:15 p.m. News-Register

- ➤ Linfield University is hosting two All-Skills Softball Clinics on Jan. 18 and Jan. 24 at Ad and Joan Rutschman Fieldhouse (corner of Linfield Ave and Davis St) to teach hitting, bunting, base running, pitching, and defense. Campers aged 8 to 12 and 13 to 18 will also take part in Q&A sessions with Wildcats coaches on college recruiting. News-Register
