- ➤ The McMinnville Lions Club will host its third-annual A Roaring Night of Giving on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Evergreen Theater and Event Center — proceeds will benefit the resource room and community programs including scholarships, device lending and support for vision and hearing. - ➤ Christa Brandenburg of McMinnville displays her local landscape paintings at the First Presbyterian Church’s Narthex Gallery at 390 N.E. Second St through March 30. The gallery opens Monday through Thursday from 9 to 5, with an opening reception on Sunday, Feb. 8 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and is closed Feb. 16. News-Register

- ➤ Yamhill County Master Gardeners is offering Garden to Table, a free six-week course for low-income residents & those facing food insecurity beginning Feb. 14 and continuing each Saturday through Mar. 21. English sessions are held at the Extension auditorium on Lafayette Ave, and Spanish sessions take place at Tice Park Apartments. News-Register

- ➤ McMinnville’s Urban Renewal committee approved increased grants on Wednesday to help businesses update their facades based on building size — a move intended to refresh local storefronts. News-Register
- ➤ On Tuesday, Feb. 3, Carlton warned that scam emails, which appear to come from its planning department, trick permit applicants into wiring funds and stated official emails come from (@ci.carlton.or.us); McMinnville officials said meeting materials will now redact contact details to reduce these scams.
