  • Tickets are available for the See Ya Later Foundation’s Denim & Diamonds fundraiser on Saturday, April 18 at the Evergreen Events Center on the museum campus at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.; prices are $100 until March 18, then $125, with proceeds funding scholarships, camps, and family support.  News-Register
  • McMinnville Lions Club will host its third-annual Roaring Night of Giving at Evergreen Event Center on Saturday, Feb. 21—tickets are still available—to support Lions scholarships and the High School Resource Room.  News-Register
  • A local nonprofit helped Jamie Shevchenko overcome a last-minute crisis after she spent her freshman year at Linfield, drawing on her roots from rural Yamhill. The support ensured she could continue her education without interruption.  News-Register

SPORTS NEWS

  • Linfield University women’s basketball earned its record 20th win — a comeback against the Loggers — during Saturday’s matinee, boosting its bid for the top spot in the Northwest Conference.  News-Register
  • The Mac girls basketball team won 55 to 42 at Newberg as Summers recorded her ninth double-double at McGrath Gymnasium, one of the conference's oldest basketball venues.  News-Register
  • At the McMinnville Aquatic Center on Saturday, the Grizzlies qualified for swim championships in 10 events while the boys captured the Pacific Conference title.  News-Register
  • Local girls basketball teams wrapped up their season with playoff berths. Yamhill Carlton’s Feb. 12 win over Corbett secured a playoff spot amid pending seeding decisions, Dayton beat Scio to earn a conference playoff game, and Amity swept the PacWest schedule to set up a Feb. 28 state playoff game.  News-Register
