- ➤ McMinnville Police impounded four dogs—three hybrids and a German Shepherd—from Sandra Atwood's N.W. Alder Street home after a Thursday night search warrant following the death of three pets on Friday, and they will remain in kennels pending the Municipal Court process. News-Register

- ➤ Linfield University will host the Oregon Nobel Laureate Symposium at its McMinnville and Portland campuses from April 10th to 11th with Nobel Prize winner Dr. Randy W. Schekman speaking on his cell research. - ➤ Oregon lawmakers are proposing to nearly double funding for a free tax preparation program from $8 million to $14 million per two-year cycle to support low-income families who need in-person help. The boost (if approved) will allow organizations to expand services in rural areas with few available tax preparers. The Oregonian
- ➤ Candidates filed for school board and fire board positions by March 20 in McMinnville for seats to be filled in the May 20 election. Voters will also decide on a $6 million bond measure for Sheridan School District plus a $140 million funding request for Chemeketa Community College. News-Register
