- ➤ Rural communities in Oregon have added 387 new shelter beds in 17 counties under Gov. Tina Kotek’s emergency homeless response plan, exceeding the goal of 100 beds—although six counties have yet to build any and three remain short of their targets three months before the June deadline. The Oregonian
- ➤ On Tuesday, lawmakers changed a sentence in House Bill 3666 to show that a wildfire safety certificate means a utility followed current rules on the day it was given. Some lawyers and survivors of the 2020 Labor Day fires said the change eased worries but still questioned if the commission has enough power to enforce wildfire safety (they remain concerned about the plan's effectiveness).
