- ➤ McMinnville High School’s annual Mission Mac High pageant — a fundraiser for Doernbecher Children's Hospital — will be held on April 17 at the McMinnville Community Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students. News-Register

- ➤ City leaders and school board members met Monday to discuss partnering with a nonprofit to raise money for scholarships that help 21 low-income students attend after-school care at the YMCA. Mayor Kim Morris and Superintendent Debbie Brockett said they plan a community event similar to the former Mayor’s Ball—set to boost funds needed to cover monthly costs of about $450 per student—and will meet with another nonprofit later this week.
