- ➤ McMinnville School District will trim staff for 2026-27 as rising costs and falling enrollment were discussed at Wednesday's budget meeting. The board will review the proposal on May 20 (public meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the district office) to adjust staffing levels accordingly. News-Register
- ➤ Chemeketa students now can buy a WOU Club Sport Player Pass to play rugby and compete with support from an Oregon Promise grant — players like Bobby Garibay boosted their grades and joined nationals while planning career paths. News-Register

- ➤ McMinnville’s girls varsity golf team won the Pacific Conference at Chehalem Glenn on Tuesday with a 338 score led by junior Mabel Findley and advances to the state championship on May 18-19.
