ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters from Yamhill County fought a blaze that burned fields and structures on Old McMinnville Highway southwest of Carlton after a call came in at 7:30 p.m. Friday—multiple departments from Carlton, Yamhill, McMinnville, Lafayette and surrounding areas aided the efforts as water trucks refilled in Carlton.  News-Register

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lawmakers passed HB 3054 that limits yearly rent increases to 6% in manufactured home parks and marinas with more than 30 spaces and allows a one-time 12% hike every five years if most residents agree. The bill now moves to Gov. Tina Kotek for review and is meant to help tenants plan for rising land costs.  The Oregonian

SPORTS NEWS

  • Oregon State beat Louisville 4—3 with a walkoff hit by Gavin Turley in the bottom of the ninth, and Dax Whitney pitched 5 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts on Friday. The Beavers will face Coastal Carolina at 4 p.m. Sunday in the winners’ bracket.  The Oregonian
  • The 2025 Oregon all-state softball team was released after the season ended and features McMinnville's Kaylee Dinger as Player of the Year and West Salem's Braeli Martin as Pitcher of the Year — coaches voted on the top players from various schools. The announcement marks a season of high competition and recognizes the best talent across the region.  The Oregonian
