Mike Thompson on Monday in Dayton to address concerns over aggressive immigration enforcement following the arrest of Moises Sotelo from Novo Start Vineyard Service and one of his employees. His daughter said her father is in a federal detention center in Tacoma today—an ongoing GoFundMe campaign has raised over $86,000 to help with his legal fees. The Oregonian

- ➤ Kourtney Ferrua, an 18-year employee—named interim superintendent for the 2025-26 school year—is set to lead after a special meeting at 6:40 p.m. on Wednesday. The board will start a search later for a permanent superintendent while Ferrua plans to apply for the job. News-Register

- ➤ Gov. Tina Kotek signed a law that will help build new homes faster by setting a 120-day deadline for local review of key engineering plans and limiting design details that can delay permits.
