- ➤ Hope on the Hill food pantry in McMinnville is asking neighbors for food donations as cuts in federal and state food bank support have increased the need for 60 to 90 families each week. The pantry needs chicken noodle and tomato soup, cereal, boxed macaroni and cheese and canned tuna and accepts donations at its site, at a realtor’s office or the News-Register office—more drop-off spots will be offered soon. - ➤ Intel will lay off 529 workers in Oregon by July 15 as part of broad cuts that will eventually remove several thousand jobs nationwide. The job cuts hit various roles (including nearly 300 engineers and 65 software positions) at the major campuses, with the largest reduction at the Jones Farm Campus in Hillsboro. The Oregonian
