Gov. Kotek declared a state of emergency Wednesday for wildfires that burned thousands of acres—this order will last until the end of the year to let communities access extra state resources.

The Oregon Fish & Wildlife Commission voted 4 to 2 last Friday to revisit a five-year agreement that let the tribe issue its own hunting and fishing licenses over a broad area in Northwest Oregon.

This decision adds a new twist to a long-standing conflict between state officials and tribal members.
