  • Local news shows Kennedy Amundson volunteered with the See Ya Later Foundation and the Sheridan City Council retained Preston Polasek as city manager through June 30 — McMinnville Finance Director Katie Henry reviewed updated investment strategies in a recent meeting. Teachers in Dayton prepared for students returning Tuesday — youths were arrested after break-ins at a local bar and school and tickets are available for a Crown of Yamhill County fundraiser.  News-Register

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Stella-Jones pleaded guilty on Aug. 25 to 10 misdemeanor charges for allowing polluted stormwater from its wood treatment plant to enter the South Yamhill River, and will pay up to $250,000 in fines. Regulators and local advocates have criticized the slow response to ongoing pollution risks that may harm community health and nature.  The Oregonian
