  • Brian Turner, hired in June as the McMinnville School District’s human resources director, left for another job after helping hire staff for the 2025-26 school year — he joined the district from Salem-Keizer.  News-Register

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Stella-Jones repeatedly released stormwater high in pentachlorophenol into the South Yamhill River—a vital drinking water source—which led state and federal regulators to impose fines and launch an investigation into the ongoing pollution. The company has agreed to clean up a contaminated drainage ditch and upgrade its stormwater treatment system to avoid further environmental risks.  News-Register

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Chief Reed Godfrey said the McMinnville Fire District will receive $3 million in state funding to build a new fire station in spring 2027—this project will update equipment and improve readiness. The plan will help ensure better safety for the community.  News-Register
