- ➤ The McMinnville boys soccer team tied 1—1 with South Salem on Sept. 4 as sophomore Izaiah Gavidia scored in the 32nd minute and will face Lakeridge on Tuesday and Mountainside on Thursday, with coach Adam Howard noting the close finish. The girls soccer team won 4—3 over Thurston with goals by freshman Cameron Baker, junior Tessa Ravia and sophomore Ruby Rojas, and coach Karly Mingus said the team played with composed teamwork as they prepare to play Southridge on Tuesday and host Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy on Thursday at Wortman Stadium.
