- ➤ The Carlton Crush harvest festival will return to Ladd Park from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 after a two-year break—teams of adults and children will compete in grape stomping while local vendors offer food, wine, and special deals. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A second emerald ash borer infestation was found in north Yamhill County after adult beetles were discovered in traps on July 23 about five miles northwest of Yamhill next to Hawn Creek—officials reported that Multnomah County will now be added to the quarantine zone to limit the pest's spread. - ➤ The Amity City Council approved the site for the city’s first Portland Pacific EV pole charger at its September 3 meeting—this charger will soon offer local drivers a new option for electric vehicle charging. News-Register
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, the OSAA classification and districting committee met to review minor edits to Oregon high school sports reclassification drafts that adjust score ranges in the middle classifications—affecting both six- and five-class proposals. The committee will send its final recommendation to the executive board in November while a separate group meets for football on Oct. 6. The Oregonian
