- ➤ After the federal government blocked a plan for a 10% discount for food aid users, store owners Mike and Dani McGinty at McMinnville Grocery Outlet changed the offer to all shoppers, asking those who do not need it to pass on the discount—ensuring help goes to those in need. Similar steps were taken by grocers in Lincoln City and Roseburg amid a government shutdown that ended SNAP benefits, and more than 200 customers have used the discount so far. The Oregonian
