- ➤ Neighbors raised concerns about proposed apartments during a community meeting in NE McMinnville, and land use consultant Doug Rucks stated he was answering questions—though some in the crowd did not like his responses. News-Register
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The McMinnville School Board met in a special work session on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the district office and via Zoom to discuss the superintendent position after former leader Debbie Brockett was dismissed and interim leader Kourtney Ferrua took over. Board members weighed offering Ferrua the permanent role, opening a full search, or delaying a decision. News-Register

- ➤ Multiple building permits have been filed for projects in our town including a $900000 natural grocers conversion in the former Rite Aid building at 448 N.E. Highway 99W, a $75,000 remodel of a former bank site, roofing work for a Goodwill store and Budget Blinds, and tenant improvements at a county building costing about $1.5 million. Stratus Village’s 178-unit affordable housing complex received temporary occupancy and residents will start moving in today while additional remodeling at a college and other commercial sites is set to begin soon.
