OSU Extension Service has provided a June guide to help Oregon gardeners prepare their yards for summer by picking ripe strawberries often to avoid fruit-rotting diseases and using safe pest management methods.

The guide recommends building trellises, pruning blooms, watering lawns regularly, and using organic mulches — all to help keep gardens healthy.

Linfield softball lost in extra innings on Sunday when Trine beat them 10+9 in an NCAA Division III semifinal match in Bloomington, Ill, ending their season at 45+7.
