- ➤ On May 14, Linfield held a town hall where students expressed frustration over the administration’s handling of a plan to cut costs aimed at eliminating a $4.9 million deficit—students demanded clearer answers on faculty cuts and more transparency as the draft proposal is under review until July 4 before final approval on Sept. 19. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health insurers in Oregon proposed premium hikes for 2026 for individuals and small businesses—averaging about 10% and over 11% increases, with companies like Kaiser and Providence asking for hikes that could affect thousands. The Division of Financial Regulation will review the proposals, hold public meetings on June 20 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and on July 18 from 12 to 3 p.m., and decide in August if the increases are fair.
